COVID-19 Lockdown Update
The United Kingdom
The UK government has announced a new lockdown in England is due to come into effect on Thursday the 5th of November, lasting until at least the 2nd of December. Although the situation remains unpredictable, Royale International does not expect any service disruptions at this moment.
France
Prime Minister Macron announced a new lockdown on the 29th of October coming into effect on the 30th of October till the 1st of December. Similar to the first lockdown in March, the public in France will have to stay at home and will only be allowed to leave for essential reasons. Despite the restrictions, Royale International does not have any service disruptions at this moment.
Germany
The German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Germany’s state premiers announced a new partial lockdown from Monday, November 2nd till November the 30th. Stricter rules also apply to personal meetings, although Germans are not confined to their homes.Despite the restrictions, Royale International does not have any service disruptions at this moment.
Spain
Spain has declared a six-month national state of emergency on the 25th of October, and imposed a night-time curfew in an effort to help control a new spike in Covid-19 infections. Under the measures, local authorities can also ban travel between regions. Despite the restrictions, Royale International does not have any service disruptions at this moment.
Italy
On the 2nd of November the Italian prime minister Giuseppe Conte has proposed a regional lockdown approach that targets the hardest-hit areas. New measures and the length of the partial lockdown are to be announced this week but will likely include further business closures and restrictions on travel between regions deemed “at risk”. Despite the upcoming restrictions, Royale International does not expect any service disruptions at this moment.
The Netherlands
The Dutch Prime Minister announced a partial lockdown on the 13th of October which will likely remain in place until December. Public gatherings are limited and the government pushes for work from home arrangements unless it’s necessary to perform their duties at the employers premises. Despite the restrictions, Royale International does not have any service disruptions at this moment.
Sri Lanka
The government of Sri Lanka has extended their curfew until 9th Nov 6am, no deliveries and collections can be executed until the 9th of November.
